Altair® AI Edge™ Device Networking
Altair® AI Edge™ devices are designed to communicate with either the Altair SaaS offering, or a private instance of IoT Studio. They may be configured to use DHCP (the default) or static IP. Altair® AI Edge™ devices require communications via HTTPS and MQTT on port 443.
Note: The only way to connect an Altair® AI Edge™ device to a network is via the single RJ45 Ethernet jack on the bottom of the device. Wifi and Bluetooth are disabled by Altair when we provision the device.
Provisioning Requirements
Altair will need the following network information from AI Edge customers prior to shipment:
All Installations
- contact information of IT administrator / contractor at site
Installations with static IPs
- static IP address(es) assigned to the devices
- DNS
- NTP server domain(s) if not using default
- subnet mask
- router IP
